In addition to previous comments, TPC have concerns over adding to the existing parking issues, which will be added to by the lack of parking



2017 / 308 - Eden District Council & Cumbria County Council Representation 

  • Cllr Richard Sealby advised that the Community Governance Review has not been completed, EDC have concerns over the loss of respite care beds and are writing to CCC about this. 

2017 / 309 – EDC Devolution and Transfer of Assets

  • The contract was discussed, and it was agreed to sign the agreement
  • The clerk to contact EHA regarding the loss of light at the bottom of Town Cross by the bungalows. 
  • The contract for the play area is not expected until later in the summer.

2017 / 310 – Station Road

  • The sign at the bottom of Station Road was discussed, and it was agreed to request that it is removed.  It was also agreed to request that the gate is removed, and bollards put in its place due to the gate being left open, causing a danger, and an alternative route being available. 
  • The weeds/verges/overgrowth were discussed, and it was agreed for the clerk to contact CCC.

2017 / 311 – Re-siting of Dog waste bin opposite Dalegarth

  • It was agreed for the clerk to contact EDC to advise that the dog waste bin will need to be re-located. 

2017 / 312 – Banners advertising village hall events

  • It was agreed that that TPC can make no comment regarding this issue, as it is a Highways function.
  • It was commented that if advertising is put up it needs removed once the event has been held. 

2017 / 313 – Village Tour

  • Dickney – it was agreed for the clerk to get 2 signs “no parking beyond this point” to see if this has any impact.   The clerk to also contact the solicitor to see how the area can be sectioned off to prevent parking.
  • Kiln Howe – it was agreed to make benches for the outdoor theatre and if they are used to replace in the future with recycled plastic benches.  The area where the gravel heap on has been tidied up and grass is now growing.  The clerk to get a sign stating no fly tipping or garden waste.

  • It was agreed to make a donation of £500.

  • The Highways Spokesperson reported:
    • The fence repairs at Town Cross are not to standard and need completed properly
    • The footpath at Town Cross still has not been addressed
  • The Clerk to report:
    • Blocked drain outside the school / drain cover lifted
