2017 / 391 - Eden District Council & Cumbria County Council Representation

  • Cllr Richard Sealby advised that at the recent EDC meeting the Penrith Masterplan petition was presented to the council.  The CTRS scheme was discussed, a report was received from the Chief Executive regarding the proposed senior management restructure.
  • Richard was asked about the play area, and it was agreed for the clerk to place on the next agenda
  • Cllr Tom Wentworth-Waites asked that TPC give a list of three priorities which CCC provide, to be discussed at the February 2019 meeting.
  • There is money available for grants if needed apply
  • Parking at the west end of the village is on the list, so are the fingerpost sign repairs

2017 / 392 - Benches

  • The new benches have been anchored in to position, thank you to those involved.
  • The plaque has been put on to the bench at Dickney
  • It was agreed for the Clerk to contact Mrs Davidson advising a donation of £150 had been agreed to go towards the bench

2017 / 393 – Suggestions for future use of the Telephone Box

  • It was agreed for the clerk to contact BT to see if it would be possible for the parish council to place a defibrillator in the phone box, along with information leaflets relating to the village

2017 / 394 – Extension of roadside footpath passed the new development new Dalegarth

  • It was agreed for the clerk to contact CCC noting their comments, and that TPC are disappointed that the footpath cannot be extended

2017 / 395 – Garden Waste Skip

  • It was agreed to monitor the situation

2017 / 396 – Parking at Sunnybank / Sunnyside / Dickney / in passing places on Blease Road

  • It was agreed for the clerk to chase CCC for the passing places signage

2017 / 398 - Highways

  • Flood near to telephone box – clerk to contact the resident who lifted the concrete slab and request it is put back
  • Water on Blease Road – temporarily fixed, works to take place to repair/replace the damaged drains
  • Environment Agency – rubbish in the river – as not affecting the fish of no concerns.  Not fly tipping as the land is owned by the person leaving the rubbish
  • A66 crossing at east end of Threlkeld – Clerk to restart communications with Highways England
  • The clerk to request the road sweeper goes through the village
  • Parking at Town Cross was noted, the clerk to put an advert in Beneath Blencathra requesting people park considerately
  • Keys for Station Road – it was confirmed that only the Birkett’s were key holders, as far as the parish council were aware.
  • A66 Threlkeld to Scales Cycleway improvements – it was agreed that TPC have no comments and thank HE for consulting them
